Frequently Asked Questions Concerning (Semi-passive program of) the Department of Philosophy

 

We’ve prepared a document of frequently asked questions (FAQ) and their answers concerning those students who got transferred from Istanbul Sehir University to our department of Philosophy. If you don’t find the answers to some of your questions here, then you can contact the members of the committee, viz. Asst. Prof. Ali Sait Sadıkoğlu, Asst. Prof. Erdal Yılmaz and Research Assistant Yusuf Bedir. They will reply your questions as soon as possible.

 

How and until when do we register for courses?

 

You should choose your courses on BYS and send the list to your advisor for the final and official registration. Course registrations will continue until Oct. 23rd 2020. Please click here for the relevant announcement. You can also follow the academic calendar and make changes during the add-drop period.

 

 

When and how do we pay tuition fees?

 

Tuition fees can be paid until Oct. 23rd 2020. Please click here for the relevant announcement. You can make all payments at Türkiye Halk Bankası electronically (via Internet Banking or Dialogue, ATM, Mobile Banking) with your student number. You can access account numbers of your faculty from this link and you can make payments by clicking this link.

 

How do we access the curriculum and whom do we consult about the courses?

I’d like to register to upper level courses. What are the requirements?

 

The number of courses you can take in one term will appear on the screen on BYS as you start choosing courses. If you want to take additional upper level courses, here are the requirements;

1. You can take 1 upper level course if your GPA is between 2.00-2.99.
2. You can take 2 upper level courses if your GPA is above 3.00.
3. You can take 3 upper level courses if you are in your last year and can graduate at the end of the term.

 

Can we continue with our Double Major/Minor programs? Who should we contact about these issues?

 

You can carry on with the Double Major / Minor programs you were continuing at Istanbul Şehir University by following the same curriculum and within the responsibilities and the requirements of ECTS. Relevant adjustments have been made. For those students who are starting Double Major in 2020-2021, it is mandatory that they complete 240 ECTS both in their Major Program and in their Double Major Program. The Double Major / Minor Program advisor in our department is Asst. Prof. Erdal Yılmaz.
